Meantime #4: Bad Stories
Meantime is an independent magazine about Singapore history told through personal stories. The fourth issue’s theme is Bad Stories, with features about lost wine, a crow-culling campaign, biker gangs, and more – written around the seven deadly sins. Storytelling and design come together to explore what it means to be ‘bad’. With a slice taken off the bottom, the publication appears to sink when turned upright – encouraging readers to see that the words on the page are only one part of the storytelling. The word ‘sin’ encapsulates multiple meanings. More than just misbehaviour, it is a reference to our country code.
Pang Xue Qiang is the founder and editor of Meantime, an independent magazine based in Singapore that revisits the country’s history through personal stories. A writer and journalist, he enjoys documenting stories about little known people and places.
